Yoga Therapist

Hi, I'm Jolene, I was born and raised in rural Manitoba and returned to my roots in 2023 after living in Ontario for almost 20 years. I am grateful for my time away and how it has shaped me but I'm sure glad to be back living the rural, slow pace of life with my husband and 3 kids plus 2 pups.


I hold strong values in my life and in the work I do of connection to each other, places and nature, playfulness and laughter and having a child-like spirit and simplicity to create a steadiness in life and in our soul.

Certifications and Expertise

  • Graduated as a Qualified Yoga Therapist from Yoga Therapy Toronto in July 2023, in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya, with his teachings by his son, T.K.V. Desikachar. Training was completed at Yoga Therapy Toronto under the guidance of Felicia Pavlovic and Ante Pavlovic.
  • Completed 300-hour Advanced Yoga Instructor training in 2020.
  • Completed Yoga Instructor training in 2017, achieving a 200-hour certication and kids Yoga Instructor training.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy, is the art of reclaiming the power of our breath – the essence of life. Specializing in crafting individualized practices, I work with any condition or limitation. Through specific poses, breathwork and meditation, we can create a space in the body for profound healing.


Yoga Therapy is a specialized approach to holistic wellness that use the science and philosophies of yoga, including movement, breathwork, and meditation, to address individual needs on emotional, physical, and mental levels. Unlike general yoga classes, Yoga Therapy is tailored to the unique constitution of each person, considering their overall health and specific concerns.


With the help of a Yoga Therapist, individuals work to alleviate symptoms causing distress and move toward improved health and well-being. Drawing from Ayurveda, an ancient Indian healing system, Yoga Therapy may also incorporate diet and lifestyle adjustments to support the individual's needs.


Based in southern Manitoba, I offer Yoga Therapy sessions both in-person and online, focusing on areas such as women's hormonal health, stress releated conditions, mental health, weight management and sleep conditions..


Yoga Therapy offers personalized practices that can benefit anyone, whether they're seeking relief from stress, recovering from physical injury, managing chronic pain, navigating illness, or facing life transitions.


Sessions with a Yoga Therapist are one-on-one, allowing for a deep understanding of the individual's needs. Tools utilized in these sessions may include mindful breathing, tailored physical movements, meditation, visualization, sound, mantra, relaxation techniques, and yoga nidra. Additionally, diet and lifestyle recommendations are provided as desired.


As stated by Sri Krishnamacharya, the founder of the therapeutic yoga lineage I follow, "If you can breathe, you can do yoga." This underscores the inclusive nature of Yoga Therapy, which aims to support individuals regardless of their current physical condition.
