ABOUT ME


HI, I’M JOLENE. I was born and raised in rural Manitoba and returned home in 2023 after nearly twenty years in Ontario. I’m deeply grateful for my time away and how it shaped me, and I’m equally grateful to be back living a slower, rural life.

I share this life with my husband, our three kids, and dog Stella. The work I offer is rooted in connection—to ourselves, to one another, and to the natural world. I value playfulness, laughter, simplicity, and a child-like spirit as essential qualities for creating balance and resilience in both life and soul.

CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE

I am a Qualified Yoga Therapist, graduating from Yoga Therapy Toronto in July 2023 in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya, through the teachings of his son, T.K.V. Desikachar. My training was completed under the guidance of Felicia Pavlovic and Ante Pavlovic.

I also completed a 300-hour Advanced Yoga Instructor training in 2020, and a 200-hour Yoga Instructor certification in 2017, including Children’s Yoga Instructor training.

WHAT MAKES YOGA THERAPY UNIQUE?

Yoga therapy is so much more than a physical practice. It is an energetic practice that works with prana—the life force energy that moves through the body.

Through intentional movement (asana), breath (pranayama), and meditation, the body is opened both physically and energetically to support the flow of prana where it is most needed, creating space for healing and balance.

Yoga therapy is a personalized, holistic approach, tailored to the individual and their unique needs, supporting the body, mind, and energy system as a whole.

Based in southern Manitoba, I offer breath-led yoga therapy focus group classes as well as private 1:1 and small group yoga therapy sessions, both in person and online.
